SimWorks' original, made-in-Japan spokes are manufactured by Hoshi Kogyo, the last spoke manufacturer in Japan and the only manufacturer certified by NJS.

The base of this Peregrine Spoke is the Wing Star Spoke, which is made from carefully selected stainless steel (SUS304) and has been given a unique special treatment to finish it, significantly improving its material properties such as breaking strength. This special treatment causes a change in the color of the surface, giving the Wing Star Spoke a hardness that sets it apart from regular stainless silver, and a unique golden color with a depth and elegance that is different from regular stainless silver.

The biggest problem with stainless steel spokes, another type of spoke that Hoshi Kogyo is proud of, which can be weaved more tightly than Starbright, is the breakage of the spoke neck when the tension is increased.

It was previously believed that the responsive and stiff wheels desired by many people sacrifice durability in exchange for their stiffness. While high-rigidity carbon rims are expanding the market, wheels that become increasingly stiff as they get stiffer are not necessarily best for everyone. Matching stiff rims with spokes that have just the right amount of flexibility improves both ride quality and durability.
