BIKE FRIDAY

SimWorks by Panaracer

Where shall we go today? Wherever we roll, we will get some new inspiration and delve further into the world beyond. There are few tire manufacturers more reliable than Japan's Panaracer to support such a spirit of inquiry. Working together to create tires is like going on a ride together. We keep rolling, based on our experience and ideas.

The Homage

26″/650B/700C

In the 1990s, the popularity of off-road cycling continued to grow. Finally, mountain bike cross-country racing was included as an official event at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, cementing its place as a standard activity in both name and reality. At the same time, parts manufacturers around the world were fiercely competing to develop new products. With mountain bikes now included in the Olympic Games, an increasing number of riders were switching over from road racing. On stages like the World Cup, riders were striving for victory, and spectators were demanding even greater speed. Tires with high performance for acceleration and top speed were needed, rather than performance on tight descents with few opportunities to pass. In 1997, Panaracer developed and debuted the Mach SS, a semi-slick tire with a highly balanced combination of light rolling performance and excellent grip in corners, in response to the increasing speeds in these races. (At the time, precise tire settings tailored to road conditions were the norm, and a companion tire called the "Mach SK (Semi-Knob)" was also released at the same time.)

The Mach SS was developed purely for racing, but as people began to realize that its tread pattern, which pursues a light ride, is capable of not only off-road riding but also maintaining the riding pleasure of the bike on the on-road approach leading up to it, it began to attract attention as a ``fun tire'' that can expand your riding path regardless of road conditions.

The realization of a truly all-terrain tire was an epoch-making achievement that only Panaracer, which originally specialized in touring, could achieve. This gene has been passed down to the modern Gravel King series, and has evolved into SimWorks' The Homage tire.

Volummy

27.5″/700C

Volummy tires have a thick construction called gum wall, making them extremely resistant to side cuts.
In Japan, we say "boryumi," but in America it's pronounced "valumi." It's Japanese-English, but foodies might understand.
A wide range of tires, mainly in thicker sizes. Basic slick pattern. Tubeless compatible with a stylish peanut butter side.
This tire is perfect for those who like to ride and eat to their heart's content.

Super Yummy

The knobs are small overall, densely packed, low in the center, and slightly upright on the sides, making this an all-rounder. It provides solid traction on climbs, rolls smoothly, and maintains a strong sense of contact with the ground even when leaning the bike over in downhill corners.
The tread pattern, compound, and casing are all well-balanced to provide a premium ride and excellent durability. Of course, it's tubeless compatible.
Super delicious!

Potter

20″

If we simply consider rolling, the larger the wheel diameter, the better, and in the case of sports bikes, we have settled on sizes like 650B and 700C. However, when we think of them as tools, there are many designs out there that place great importance on "compactness." Even in a large, car-centric country like America, small-wheeled bicycles are still highly valued as useful tools in urban areas.

What SimWorks wanted to address with the design of the 20-inch tire was the need for bicycles, which are a necessity in daily life, to have both reliable performance and aesthetics.

BETWEEN YOU AND ME

SimWorks is a product and an idea that was born from careful consideration of what is needed and what is lacking from the user's perspective through the bicycle, a fun tool that we have been involved with for a long time. We will propose to you everything related to bicycles.
