I thought, but it makes sense when I saw that each one came with a bag of silica gel. It's a consideration to prevent rust. The shine and the tarnish that comes with age, both of which are characteristics of brass as a material, create a unique atmosphere, sometimes "sophisticated" and sometimes "elegant," and add a touch of character to your bike.
