FAQ for SimWorks by Nitto
◆ AboutAnna Lee Stem Can I use the above product for a carbon fork column? Also, the column on the headset is 43mm long, is that enough?
You can use the carbon column fork without any problem. Observe the maximum tightening torque specified by the fork and be careful of damage due to overtorque.
The column should be inserted at least 67mm.
This stem is designed so that the clamp bolt protrudes and comes under, and it is a very beautiful stem with a neat rider side. In exchange for its beauty, the fact that we have to put a "split" under the protrusion where the load from the handle is applied is a fact that the strength will inevitably decrease compared to products that do not have it. Tests have shown that shorter steering column insertions cause them to fail more quickly. Therefore, Nitto's answer is that it is prohibited to use the steering column when the steering column is not firmly inserted to the top of the column clamp.
Also, this stem cannot be used with a 1 inch column fork with a shim in between.
◆ I'm considering purchasing a Beatnik Seat Post .
As for the beatnik post, it should be at least 65mm into the seat tube. As long as you follow this insertion amount when using it, you can cut it as much as you want. However, if you cut it, it is equivalent to "modification", so you will not be able to receive the product warranty. Please keep this point in mind.
◆ Could you tell me the torque to fix the beatnik seat post yagura? I set it to 8Nm because I thought it might not be too strong, but sometimes I notice it's off.
The specified tightening torque of the fixing bolt in the yagura clamp part of the Beatnik seatpost is 16~18Nm.
◆ I was looking for a stem for MTB and found this one. This is a quick question, but is there a setting such as 90° (0°) or 5° for the Caroline stem angle? Or is it possible to make a custom order?
First of all, the Caroline and Anna Lee stems cannot be used on mountain bikes, as they are compliant with Nitto's endurance standards for cross bikes. We recommend the Rhonda stem with four handlebar clamps. The single tightening has a clean and simple look and is cool, but the fixing force is inevitably inferior. I think it would be wise to think that it is not suitable for intense off-road driving.
This stem is set to 80 degrees only. Unfortunately, we cannot accept custom orders due to the minimum lot size.
◆I was looking for a black threaded stem and found this item. I would like to know about the top cap of Gettin' Hungry Stem tomato .
Gettin' Hungry stems are available in either green or red and a cap color depending on the handlebar clamp diameter. Tomatoes (75 degrees/26.0mm) for road racers have a passionate red color, while lettuce (90 degrees/25.4mm) for mountain bikers has a green color inspired by nature.
We love it, but we also sell it separately if you really want to change it.
◆ What is the post manager of Gettin' Hungry Stem ? Also, please let me know the post length when the stem is inserted to the limit line.
The post length of the Getin Hungry Stem is approximately 150mm from the top of the cap to the bottom of the die. The limit line is around 70mm from the bottom, so the top is about 80mm.
◆There are stems with 80 degree and 100 degree angles, but I can't really tell the difference even if I look it up on the internet. I would like to have one that faces upward (the handle position is higher), but which one should I choose?
The angle of the stem indicates how many angles the stem protrudes from the steering column.
Among Simworks by Nitto's stems, 4 types of 31.8 diameter Rhonda Stem and Dirty Rhonda Stem, 25.4 diameter Tomboy Stem, and 26.0 diameter Wendy Stem can be used upside down.
These are tilted 10 degrees from the right angle of the steering column, so if you put them down they will be 80 degrees and if you put them up they will be 100 degrees. Since the top and bottom of the faceplate can be reversed during installation, the orientation of the logo can also be matched.
◆ Is it possible to purchase only one bolt for the TomBoy Stem 's handle tightening part?
Spare bolts for Nitto stems are available here .
◆I'm thinking of using Caroline Stem with full carbon front forks and handlebars.
Regarding compatibility with Caroline Stem and carbon parts, there is no particular problem. However, in terms of strength, carbon parts are still a delicate material, so it is necessary for carbon parts to follow the tightening torque specified for each part and be careful not to overtighten and cause damage. .
Also, as a supplement, this is not limited to our products, but when used for riding such as cyclocross, where there is a lot of force in the vertical direction, depending on the combination of handlebars and stems, the tightening torque may be tightened to the upper limit of the specified tightening torque. Be careful, as the handle may turn even if
◆ Regarding the handlebar width of the Wild Honey Bar , I think that the indicated value is the end width, but please tell me the handlebar width at the bracket position. (Difference from end width)
The difference from the handlebar width (end width) is about -70mm when the handlebar starts to drop, and about -40mm at the middle of the drop (front end). Each is a numerical value in CC. Please try to reference.
◆ What is the stack height of SimWorks Stem ?
Rhonda, Dirty Rhonda and Caroline stems have a stack height of 42mm.
Tomboy, Wendy stems have a stack height of 40mm.
The stack height of Anna Lee and Anna Lee S stems is 72mm.
◆ Can Obento Rack and On The Road be attached to a 20 inch (406) minivelo? If it can be installed, will there be a large gap between the tire and it will be unsightly? By the way, the body is Bruno Ventura with cantilever brakes.
Whether or not it can be installed can only be judged by looking at the actual frame condition, so we cannot make an accurate judgment. I think it's best to consult a bicycle shop that is good at maintenance and customization.
For reference, I did an image search on your bike. You can see the eyelets on the front forks and rear end. (The specifications may differ depending on the year and lot, so it's just for reference.) I think it's possible to install using this, but I think these are probably prepared for fender installation. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully judge whether there is sufficient strength when installing the rack.
Our racks are designed for mounting on bikes with a size of 26" to 700c, so it is necessary to change the "connecting rod" used when mounting to the cantilever brake pedestal to a longer one. maybe.
Finally, whether it's clunky or not, but this is difficult. This is something you will have to install and judge.
I'm pretty sure there is a big gap between the tires. Appearance is important, but function is also important, so what is important?
