Sunset Edition, Inspired by the Breathtaking Beauty of the Setting Sun

At dusk, the sun burns a fiery red, painting the sky in shades of orange. This time of day, when everything glows in golden light, is known as “The Magic Hour,” one of the most beautiful moments of the day.

Inspired by the beauty of dusk, the “SunSet” limited collection with PAUL COMPONENT was born.

It all began with the “SunRise Collection,” planned with NITTO and MKS for this year’s MADE Bike Show. If we were to collaborate with Japanese manufacturers in the United States, then when collaborating at Bespoked in Japan, it should be with an American manufacturer. With that in mind, we were able to realize our fourth collaboration with PAUL COMPONENT.

A special anodized finish featuring a gradient of three colors reminiscent of a sunset: red, orange, and gold.

From Japan to America. From the sunrise in the Far East to the California sunset.

The “SunRise Collection,” unveiled at MADE, and the “SunSet Collection,” announced at Bespoked. This is SimWorks’ 2026 collaboration project, created with like-minded partners across borders.

A Playful Take on a Classic Tool

The “Bottle Opener Tool” is a playful take on a classic tool that is full of PAUL COMPONENT’s signature style.

It features a 15 mm wrench for adjusting PAUL COMPONENT rim brakes and a disc brake rotor straightening tool, with a bottle opener on the other side (which is the most important part!).

It is a unique tool that shines in a wide range of situations, from bicycle maintenance to post-ride moments.

It is made from 6061 aluminum, also used in the aerospace industry. It is manufactured through precision machining in Chico, California.

Japanese Katakana

Basically, katakana is a script used for words imported from the West. Japanese culture has absorbed, reinterpreted, and reconstructed things from all over the world, but Japanese people have also converted and understood new concepts from overseas through “katakana.” This script has been particularly important in post-war Japanese culture.

In other words, it is an important tool for understanding and absorbing cultures from across the sea. And it is no exaggeration to say that we who live in Japan have understood Western bike culture through katakana without exception.

Yes, one of the keys to Japan’s uniqueness may lie in this “katakana.”

With that interpretation, we have once again engraved katakana as Japanese text onto their products.
